Hi Reader,

It's been a minute. Life had other plans for a while and I took some time to recalibrate, focus on my art practice, and quietly get some things in order behind the scenes of Happy Little Websites while continuing to support my clients.

Thanks for still being here.

I just updated our website to reflect the ways I've been creating with clients over the past couple years. Here's what you can now find on happylittlewebsites.com:

Web and Brand Audits

Not sure if your website is actually working for your business? I offer two audit options, a Website Health Audit for existing sites and a Brand Foundation Audit for businesses starting fresh or rebranding. Both are $310, delivered async via Loom and a written report, and both start with a free intro call. The cost of these audits are applied to custom projects upon booking.

VIP Design Day

One intensive day, one professionally designed Squarespace website like this recent site for The Plant Witch. VIP Days are design sprints for a $780 flat with limited/no follow up support- add-ons available. If you have your content ready and just need someone to build the thing, this is for you.

New on the blog

I published a detailed breakdown of exactly what I look for when auditing a therapist website and what I prioritize first. If you work with therapists or are one, it might be worth a read.

Squarespace just made customizing your site a lot more powerful

If your website is on Squarespace 7.1 you may have noticed some new design options appearing in your editor. Squarespace recently released something called Finish Layer, a set of tools that give you more control over how your site looks without needing to touch any code.

Here's what's new:

You can now rotate and reposition some individual elements on your page for more dynamic layouts. You can add animations to specific blocks so things fade or slide in as visitors scroll. You can even hide certain blocks much easier now on certain devices.

Why does this matter? Grabbing attention is important to convey your message and the novelty of animations can help support this when used strategically and sparingly.

These features are available on 7.1 sites using Fluid Engine. Not sure if that's you? Reach out and I'll take a look.

Thanks for being here!

I sincerely appreciate you allowing me into your inbox! Please let me know how I can support you and if any of this sounds relevant to someone you know, I'd love a warm introduction.

You can expect ongoing platform updates, how-tos, and project highlights on a very irregular schedule. :) ✏

3 ways we can work together:

Kind words:

"I cannot recommend Happy Little Websites enough. I was so impressed with Nicolette’s attention to detail but at the same time her patience with me (a none tech person). The experience of her building my web site was streamline, professional, and thorough. I’ve already seen results. More importantly she heard me. She heard (through all my words) what I REALLY wanted to convey to potential clients and I couldn’t be more grateful. I think it’s rare to find a combination of artistic and creative AND organized and up on tech. Do not hesitate to invest in your business in this way!" -Helen Joy George
